Northern Lights Tour Extension – 3 days
Enjoy a 3-day trip to see the Aurora borealis in Russia – the northern lights in Murmansk region. You travel to Murmansk by plane either from St. Petersburg or Moscow (flight duration around 2 – 2.5 hours). Alternatively, you can travel by train, however this journey will take much longer. The tour can start on any date depending on your preferences. During the trip, you will stay in an eco-friendly lodge enjoying the local culture and traditions of the people of the Russian North.
Tour Schedule
Day 1
Murmansk
Arrival in Murmansk
Arrival in Murmansk airport. You will be met by a local English-speaking assistant and transferred to the hotel “Arctic Home” located in the forest area not far from Murmansk (11 km from the city, 22 km from the airport). Dinner. Overnight at the hotel.Day 2
Murmansk
Murmansk city tour. Northern lights guided tour out of the city
Breakfast.10:00 – 14:00 - Visit of the city of Murmansk, including roundtrip transfers and 2-hour guided city tour. The rest of the afternoon will be free for you to enjoy different optional activities available at the hotel: snowmobiling, husky trip, Russian sauna and much more. Please be in time at the hotel for your night tour.
20:00 – Dinner at the hotel.
21:00 – 00:00 – Northern lights guided tour out of the city.
Day 3
Murmansk
Depart Murmansk
Breakfast. Check-out until 11:00.Transfer to the airport for your flight to Moscow or St. Petersburg.

10:00 - Pick up at the hotel by the guide, short transfer to the safari park near the hotel.10:30 - Getting warm snowmobiling clothes, helmets, gloves and boots. Safety briefing.
11:00 – 12:00 - 1-hour snowmobile safari.
12:00 - Reindeer sledding (900 meters, a few minutes, 2 persons per sled).
12:30 - Return to the hotel.
Price: £195 per person
Based on 2 people per snowmobile. If 1 person rides on a snowmobile, there will be a surcharge of £40 per person.
Tour to the husky park
08:30 - Pick up at the hotel by the guide, transfer to the Husky park in Lovozero region (transfer time around 2,5 hours).11:00 - Arrival.
- Welcoming tea.
- Visit the reconstructed Saami settlement.
- Feed reindeers. Visit the husky kennel, meet the dogs.
- Dog-sled safari. Your group will be split: one part of the group will travel in the sleds and the other part will follow in snowmobile sleds then interchange.
- Lunch (vegetarian option is available upon request).
16:30 - Return to the hotel.
