Upon your arrival at the airport, our driver will be waiting for you in the arrival sector. You will then be transferred to the hotel. In the afternoon, immerse yourself in the charm of old Beijing as we explore a 'Hutong' neighborhood near Shichahai Lake. Navigate the narrow streets with a guided rickshaw ride, offering a retreat from the swift development of the Chinese capital. While many hutongs are giving way to new roads and skyscrapers, certain areas are preserved under a 'special status' to safeguard Beijing's cultural heritage. (D)

Our exploration begins in central Beijing at Tiananmen Square, the fourth largest city square globally, spanning 440,000 square meters. Adjacent to the Forbidden City, this square witnessed the proclamation of the People's Republic of China by Mao Zedong in 1949. Following this, a guided tour awaits you in the Forbidden City and Imperial Palace, recognized by UNESCO as the most extensive collection of preserved ancient wooden structures in the world. In the afternoon, a visit to the exquisite Summer Palace unfolds, allowing you to appreciate the art of Chinese landscape garden design amidst lakes and hills. Today is dedicated to the exploration of the Great Wall of China, undoubtedly the most renowned tourist attraction in the country. Originally constructed from the 7th century BC onward as a defensive measure against nomadic invaders, the Great Wall has evolved into one of the world's wonders. Our journey takes us 44 miles north of Beijing to the Badaling section, recognized as the best-preserved segment, dating back to the 16th century. Following this historical excursion, we will visit the Olympic Green and Park, erected in Beijing for the 2008 Summer Olympics. Later, our driver will transfer you to the airport for your onward flight. (B,L)
