Dear Traveller, |
Have you planned your New Year celebrations yet? |
Have you planned your New Year celebrations yet? No? That’s good to hear, because we have
the perfect tour for you,
taking you to our current capital Moscow and the old capital St Petersburg.
|
Russia’s at its best under the snowy covers of winter and there is no place more romantic to see in 2017. New Year’s a big
deal in Russia, more so than Christmas, and New Year’s Eve rather than Christmas Day is when presents are exchanged. It’s a
magical time of year, with the possibility of rides in horse-drawn troika and festive ballet performances. We don’t skimp on
the sightseeing, either, so you can rest assured you’ll still see all the major sights of both these incredible cities from
the Hermitage to the Kremlin and everything in between.
|
|
We’ve timed this special tour so that you can mark the occasion by welcoming January 1st in Red Square. You’ll be able to
look out for the novogodnaya yolka or New Year’s tree which has been erected since 1935 in a tradition similar to that of
our Christmas tree. At midnight, Putin will address the nation, and then the clock tower chimes, marking the start of a
wonderful fireworks display. Just imagine sipping champagne and eating caviar as you toast good luck, good health and good
fortune. It certainly won’t be your ordinary New Year’s Eve, that’s for sure.
|
Best of all, our tour departs on Boxing Day so you’ll have the chance of receiving two lots of presents. If that’s not enough,
our gift to you is that if you book before 16 October 2016 we’ll give you a £75 discount per person. All you have to do is
enter the code NEWYEAR2017 when you fill out the online booking form. And there is still plenty of time to arrange your
Russian visa and we will take care of it. Terms and conditions: offer is exclusive to our newsletter subscribers, new
bookings only, subject to availability.

It’s mushroom picking time in Russia!
|
As summer draws to a conclusion, it’s time to think about the harvest. In British parks (and even by the roadside), you’ll spot people with old plastic ice cream tubs furtively looking for juicy, sweet blackberries, but in Russia, one crop’s on everyone’s minds – mushrooms!
